New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art
Description

Prepare to encounter the unexpected in Till-Campbell's first solo presentation in Indiana, 'Ground Figures.' For this solo show, artworks in the exhibit serve as “events," offering moments of meditative interruptions including wrinkles, shadows and intentional indentations represented by multi-media artworks.Till-Campbell takes his practice further into a direction of durational observation in this meditative solo show, with works spanning sculpture, painting, works on paper and artist books. Visitors to the exhibit – which spans both the main gallery and the BG Projects space – will witness the artist’s process which seeks to embrace, “quietness, slow shifts and accumulation, cycles of growth and decay, lightness of touch, waiting for a spark of something to emerge," Till-Campbell reflects. Taking the gallery itself as a starting point, the artist seeks to subtly nudge the visitor toward a site-specific sense of self-discovery that meanders, as the artist reflects, “toward the viewer’s awareness of their own perception in the gallery space.” The artist will be present for this opening reception of his first solo show post-MFA graduation, and his first show in the state of Indiana, with refreshments provided and all programming for this exhibit free and open to the public.
